How to play AUX Battle
The short version: draft artists, pick the right song for the moment, and let the music speak for itself.
1. Start a room
On the screen that will play the music, tap Host a game and choose a game mode. Everyone else opens auxbattle.net on their phone, taps Join, and enters the room code (or scans the QR code).
2. Bans
Before the draft, each player can ban artists. Banned artists can't be drafted by anyone this game.
3. The snake draft
Players draft artists in a snake order (1-2-3, then 3-2-1). Artists must be officially credited on the songs you play later, so features count only when the artist is credited.
4. One substitution
After the draft, each player may swap one artist for one who is still available.
5. Rounds
- A spinning wheel picks the first Judge. The Judge sets the scenario — for example, "the song for the drive home after a breakup" — or uses a Vibe Pack.
- Every competitor picks a song by one of their artists. Picks are hidden and locked once made.
- Each song plays for at least 30 seconds, from the top.
- The Judge picks the winner, who earns one point. In Classic, every artist played is gone for the rest of the game, win or lose.
6. Challenge a Song
If a song's artist isn't officially credited, or the track isn't eligible, another player can challenge it. The Judge decides: the song is fine, the player re-picks with the same artist, or the player loses the round. The Judge's call is final.
7. Winning
When the artists run out, the player with the most points wins. Ties go to sudden death: a new scenario, one song each. In a rematch, artists drafted last game are banned.
Game modes
Each player drafts three artists. The winner of a round keeps their artist and judges the next round; losers lose the artist they played. The game ends when only one player has artists left.
Each player drafts players − 1 artists and everyone plays every round. With six or more players, rounds score 3, 2 and 1.
Two players face off each round while an odd-numbered panel of judges votes.
A tournament for 2 to 16 players with up to 50 audience members. Everyone picks their artists at the same time. Players meet one on one in a single-elimination bracket with a new scenario every match, and the room votes. Semifinal losers play for third before the final.
